(POST 28 ) - Planning, Casting and Characters

For the music video final piece we are going to have two actors who will take part in the main video shoot. The video starts of with the woman finding the man asleep surrounded by bottles on the beach. Clearly the mans life is in a mess so the woman takes him into her home and they get close to each other. They eventually return to the same beach where they both met on a date. Therefore we believe having two people who are already in a relationship will work or two people who look like they could be in one. For the woman role we were thinking of two people either Reya Muller or Georgia Bacon. We chose the both of them as they suite the role and would be happy to feature in the music video. For the male role we have two candidates as well them being Indy Holmes or Aaron Walker.

Short Character Profiles

Female role - The female character in this music video will play a supportive and caring role towards the man. She will show a clear amount of care and worry towards the male character. Therefore, we need to have someone with a natural smile and a transparent amount of care towards the man. The female character could potentially have a brief moment where we lip sync the lyrics which would show a clear link from the music video to the song. However, we are still not sure whether or not to include lip syncing within the music video as it can overcomplicate the shoot and confuse actors who aren't to experienced. We want the video to look as good as possible and this could possibly affect the production quality.

Male role - The male character will be featured throughout the whole of the video. In this music video he will play the main character and will have the most on-screen camera time. At the start of the shoot he is a drunken mess who is considering ending his life. During these shots he will have to show emotion and allow the viewers of the music video to understand his feelings through facial expressions and the way the camera captures his emotions. Once again we're not aware as whether or not we want to include lip syncing within the characters role. We're edging towards including lip syncing through the male characters role as it will help grow the emotional connection between the characters and the videos audience.

Acting we are using for auditioning - There is plenty of potential scenes we could shoot for auditions. However, I would like to shoot the characters facial expressions and emotions as I feel that will be most important for the success of the video and how we can make the audience emotionally attached to the video. I'm hoping to audition all potential actors and then come to a conclusion of who we want to have in the final music video.
