(POST 48) - Post Filming Video Diary

We decided to film on two days in order to give ourselves plenty of time to get what we wanted but during these two days we filmed some in the light and some in the dark to see what we would prefer and what looks better. After doing that on the first day we looked at the footage on the second day and decided the daytime looks better therefore we redone bits so it looked more professional. Some of our good points during filming were that we came up with new ideas which will be shown in the final cut of our music video, such as in the song it talks about running from myself therefore we decided it would be a good idea to have the main character running from himself which shows our good editing skills in order to pull it off. A bad point from our filming day would be the first day when we recorded in the light the footage had a green tint to it therefore we had to redo them part which means we lost out on time and the overall time to film increased due to this but we managed to deal with ...

(POST 46) - Final Song Choice

The song choice we are using for the music video  Naughty Boy - Runnin' (Lose It All) ft. Beyoncé, Arrow Benjamin  which you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJSik6ejkr0 Is there a common theme to their videos? This music video is based around two people trying to reach out to each other in the ocean, sea or some kind of deep water. They don't really do much but run towards each other which is in the lyrics of the music video. There is no common theme in there music videos compared to this one because it is very unique to any other music video.

(POST 39) - Final Idea Based On All Our Planning

A basic overview of our music video is that a guy is experiencing loneliness due to his girlfriend leaving him therefore due to this he doesn't know where to go as he feels so alone. From this we are going to show different shots of him trying to remove her from his life by burning photos and dropping them in rivers to show that he's trying to move on but is finding it hard to do so. We will use three locations in order to have variation in scenery and show that he's walking about a lot thinking about all the time. The costume and props are basic as we don't need to complicate them but make it realistic to the music video we want to create so having the teenage but at the same time represent loneliness of wearing dark clothing. The props will be a lighter and photos so that it can make it clear on what his thoughts are and also using the lighter adds in another kind of lighting type. The actor being used is Aaron, Harvey was there to be more of a backup if we couldn...

(POST 38) - Checkpoint 1 R&P Mark Scheme

Image
This is the mark scheme Level 4 16-20 marks Planning and research evidence will be complete and detailed. There is excellent research into similar products and a potential target audience. There is excellent work on shotlists, layouts, drafting, scripting or story boarding . There is excellent organisation of actors, locations, costumes or props. Time management is excellent. There is excellent skill in the use of digital technology or ICT in the presentation. There are excellent communication skills. There is an excellent level of care in the presentation of the research and planning First blog post The one thing that I liked the look of was the fact that everything is organised well with the script, everything that needs to be included is and to a high standard of detail. From the script you can also tell that the group have planned and researched what they want to do, especially from the detail in little detail column. Therefore from this piece of work I can compare ...

(POST 37) - Ancillary Task 2 - Poster

Image
We have gathered together some surveys of what people in our target audience think about music posters therefore we will use this information when making them so that they are precise to how our target audience our attracted to them.

Group Change Explained

We have decided to split the group of being Myself (Jordan Hayward), Jordan Rolf, Jack Kirby and Luke Marchant into two pairs. The pairs are myself and Jordan leaving the other pair as Jack and Luke. As things stand we have done a different practice task and dragon's den planning and pitching but the only thing that has remained a group task(in the four) was the final practice video task because after doing that we wanted to change the groups therefore we went back to change the other tasks that needed to be changed.

(EXTRA POST) - Detailed Film Plan

Logic - 1-800-273-8255 Logic Explains The Lyrics In Full The meaning behind the song and the creation of it is down to fans who Logic has shared food and time with had told him that his music had saved there life. He thought to himself the effects he could have on peoples life if he actually attempted to save people's life. Not only is it in just this song but in fact the whole album which helped him come up with the name 'Everybody'. He questioned himself on this heavily and this helped his lyrics. He says himself that he couldn't sugar coat it so that's why the lyrics are so straight up. He wants the song to be an escape path from the suicidal path that could be affecting some listeners and connects to them deeply. He himself said it's dark but needed to be done. Therefore I believe that in the music video we have to get across the emotions and meaning of the lyrics to make the music video successful.

(POST 36) - Ancillary Task 1 - Digipak

Image
We have gathered together some information through doing surveys for our digipak and will use this information when doing it so we can make it specific to our target audience.

(POST 35) - Rehearsal Footage

(POST 34) - Planning - Directional Style

Is there a particular directing style you want to use? Examples of directing styles: Montage vs long shots where shots are longer and keeps the scene in deep focus which allows the audience to choose their points of emphasis. Also the mise-en-scene and the arrangement of the set is important in this directional style. Hollywood style where the aim is to make the audience forget the medium of the film therefore they use shots and cuts in order to make the audience seem like there is no technique. Finally they like to keep the video having a natural look to it. From this bit of research I think using a directional style can be helpful but at the same time as a pair I think we would use different parts of different styles so that we are using techniques that allow us to create exactly what we want therefore there is no particular style that we would want to use but we would consider using sections to create our own style to it. Are there particular directors you are inspired ...

(POST 33) - Planning and Editing

Image
Images of annotated script/stage directions/plot showing where you envisage longer and shorter takes, to establish emotion and/or generate pace, action, intensity. For the first part which involves the Wymondham Abbey section we will be making these shots shorter shots to have more variation in camera shots and angles. The shot where Aaron walks towards the Wymondham Abbey Train Station that will be a longer shot to show the emotional long shot to the bench where he will sit down and look down to show a lot of emotions including feeling alone. The wymondham church part of the music video will be longer because we plan on aiming the camera at the top of the church and then panning down to the bottom where Aaron will be sitting which will be a longer shot to show the intensity in how the character is feeling. Also for this part it'll be were he sets light to the photo so the pace will be slow to show the emotions going through him which will be a slow shot for more effect. The fin...

(POST 32) - Planning - Sound

Music Video  Any diegetic sound that occurs as part of your idea? Diegetic sound is sound that the camera picks up therefore this can be voices of the characters on screen or sounds made by objects in the background e.g. fireworks. Therefore from this we have decided that using diegetic sound in a music video isn't going to be suitable because you play the music over the story line so from this we have decided that we won't being using diegetic sound and will use more non diegtic sound. Any foley sound that needs to be recorded as part of your idea? Foley sound is sound that is the reproduction of everyday sound therefore it could be things such as the swishing of a cloth or the squeaky doors. Therefore from this we have decided that we won't be using this type of sound because we believe it isn't suitable for our music video, we would prefer to have just the music over the story line however we have noticed that foley sound is popular in...
